Interests
Some of the things I most enjoy are snowboarding, camping, boating, reading, piano, problem solving, developing my ideas.
I try to snowboard at least once a year. From when I was about 5yrs old to 14 I rode Winter Park every year. Over my college career I've manage to ride Breckenridge every year. Keystone was sprinkled in there a few times as well.
I try to camp whenever I get a chance. The best experience I've had camping was at Lake McConaughy in Ogallala, NE. This is a giant lake (for Nebraska) in western Nebraska. My favorite part was the sky at night. If the skies were clear you could literally see the Milky Way... simply amazing. The storms they get out there were pretty awesome as well (minus the whole destruction of the camp site).
Boating is another interest of mine. I was lucky enough to have the coolest grandparents ever. Since I was little kid they owned a house on a lake in Nebraska. They oewned two boats and a jet ski at one point. I used to love skiing, wake-boarding, and tubing. Fourth of July at my grandparents house were the best times of my life. Unfortunately they sold that house a several years ago and my boating experiences have dropped off since. I still manage to gets rides from time to time elsewhere.
Reading is another hobby of mine. My preferences are towards the sciences. Primarily theoretical physics and psychology. My favorite non-fiction author is Ken Wilber. His books have completely changed the way I think. I hope to have a special section on my site about some of my favorites (check out Integral Theory if you get a chance) My favorite fiction author is Kurt Vonnegut. His brand of satire is unbeatable.
Piano is another hobby of mine that I've recently taken up. I bought a Casio CTK 800 off Craigslist in November and started lessons with Sky Ladd in February. Progress is slow but steady. Here's a link to a song I've performed.
